Congratulations Missy On Your Unbelievable Transformation!
Ronny Varghese has been a key player in my journey to live and lead a healthier life style.
My weight loss journey started years ago when I was more then 80lbs overweight. I decided to take control of my eating habits by joining a weight loss program and hit the gym as much as possible. I lost a large amount of weight; however, my body hit a plateau, which led me feeling discouraged and frustrated.
It wasn’t until I started training with Ronny in June, 2007 when I noticed my body transforming in ways I could have never imagined. The feeling I had of dreading going to the gym was turned into "I can’t wait to go and see what Ronny has in store for me today". He always mixes up my workout routines while making the most of my time, all while staying focused to help me reach my ultimate goal.
Never in my life I have felt this great and I can’t thank Ronny enough for all he has done. I have so much energy and I feel like I can do anything I put my mind to. The fact that I can look at a picture of myself and feel good about what I see is something I would have never thought was possible.
Thank You,
Missy Burke

Although I have dieted much of my life, I have always referred to myself as "big boned" and never imagined that I would be smaller than a size 10 (the smallest I had ever been as an adult). After five years of marriage to a wonderful and supportive husband, we learned we were pregnant with our son. My husband and I had just started running before we learned this exciting news. My doctor suggested that I stop running so as not to jeopardize the pregnancy. I’m sure in that same sentence she suggested taking up a lower-impact exercise routine but what I heard was, "stop exercising and eat all the cheesecake you can get your hands on!" I remember thinking during this pregnancy that I would never again have an excuse to eat the foods I was enjoying on a regular basis. I gained 40 pounds over the course of my pregnancy but always thought I would be able to take the weight off fairly easily. What I had not anticipated was that it would take nearly two and half years to take this weight off and I still had more to go.
In the summer of 2007 one of my closest girlfriends asked if I would act as the officiant at her wedding. I was thrilled to play this role and started exercising in an effort to slim down before the ceremony. On the day of the big event I felt good and thought I looked pretty good ...and then I saw the photos. I was not happy with the weight that I had still not managed to lose since the birth of my son and decided it was time to get serious about a nutrition plan and exercise routine. A friend referred me to Ronny Varghese, a personal trainer. At our first session, we took measurements and I jumped on the scale. We talked about my fitness goals and about how to change my diet. The latter has probably been the most important part of my fitness regime. I had never made eating right a priority and Ronny instilled in me the importance of eating healthfully and exercising as a way of life. Today, I exercise 6-7 days per week. I weight train for 60 minutes 3 days per week and get a great cardio workout through a bootcamp (run by Ronny) 60 minutes three times per week. I have almost reached my weight loss goal (I am down to a size 6) and am now working on toning/building muscle. I have learned that working with a personal trainer helps keep me accountable and on-track with my fitness goals.

Maureen De Nieva Started At 320 lbs in May 2007, 68 lbs And 8 Months Later,
She Is About 252. All Star Maureen Is Still Currently Training With Ronny.!
May 2007: 320 lbs | Now: 252 lbs | Lost: 68 lbs (and it’s still dropping!)
HOW IT STARTED: Growing up my siblings and I were always the heavier kids in the family. Being Filipino-American was difficult because there was always pressure to lose weight. However, my siblings and I turned to food and our outgoing personalities to take us far. When I first started college I was 196 lbs and a size 18. At the end of my freshman year I had gained 47 lbs, which was due to a lot of heavy drinking, late night food runs, and lack of exercise. For the first time in my life I was over 200 lbs. However, I didn’t let my heavy weight get to me because I was popular at school and always had a boyfriend who loved me no matter what size I was.
ROCK BOTTOM: During the first couple of months of my senior year in college I wasn’t sleeping very well. In fact I was sleeping all day, only waking up to go to class and to eat. Being lethargic all the time didn’t cause me worry because I was the typical college student who slept and ate late to study and party. I didn’t worry until I fell asleep at the wheel while driving home from school and almost got into a car accident on the freeway. December 2007 I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. My doctors told me that the reason why I couldn’t breathe at night and was sleepy all that time was because of my severe obesity. I was shocked. I was given a C-PAP machine that I had to use every night to breathe. As a college student and a young woman trying to compete in the dating world a C-PAP machine was not sexy at all.
BREAKTHROUGH MOMENT: I just graduated from college May 2007. In the mail I was sent a photo proof of me receiving my diploma. I couldn’t believe my eyes at how much weight I had gained. I was so startled that I was searching the house of photos of me from the last four years for comparison. During four years away at college I had gained 124 lbs and was a size 28. I always was the confident, fun, fat girl, but I knew it was time to be selfish for once and focus on myself and my health.
HOW I LOST IT: The next day I signed up for a gym membership and was offered the opportunity to get a personal trainer. In the past I was intimidated by personal trainers, however I knew since I haven’t been at the gym for a very long time I needed all the help and motivation I could get. My help and motivation was my personal trainer Ronny. He didn’t treat me like a fat girl who needed to lose weight, but as a human being who wanted to create a new lifestyle change. I started training with Ronny in June 2007. Since then I have lost more than 60 lbs and can fit into size 18 jeans. I haven’t been able to fit into size 18 jeans since I was a freshman in college, five years ago! I can climb up stairs with ease, I don’t need a seat belt extender when I fly in an airplane, and I can finally ride a roller coaster ride with the harness down comfortably. At 22 years old I always had to assess my chair to see if I could even fit every time I sat down. Now at 23 years old all of those days are gone and I am happy to report that I no longer need to use my C-PAP machine at night when I sleep. My quality of life has significantly improved and it’s because of the constant support I received from Ronny. There were many times I wanted to give up and throw in the towel, but Ronny was there to light a fire underneath me to strive for more.
Thank you for everything you have done for me,

"Because of Ronny I understand my body better through nutrition, rest and recovery, and sustained work ethic...Ronny can take you to your goals and give you the lifestyle change that you want!"
There finally comes a day when you get frustrated and down about the way you look when you feel that change is needed. My entire life I have always felt like the small guy, I was in shape but I didn’t look or feel good about myself. When I met Ronny I felt an immediate connection, he was friendly, outgoing, very knowledgeable, and most of all he gave me hope. I will always remember what he said to me that first day. I questioned him about if I could do this and if this was really going to work. Ronny told me then "You get out of it what you put in." Those words would be engraved in my mind over the next few months working out together.
Going from knowing nothing about how to properly work out or how to eat, to understanding what was necessary to achieve my goals I slowly started to see results and gain tremendous confidence that I had been lacking. As a small guy trying to gain I’ve always felt that it was easier to lose weight then to gain, but I was wrong, it’s just as hard. However, 30lbs later I feel better, look better, and know that I have gotten what I put into it. It’s taken me time to understand the mental aspect of working out. But because of Ronny I understand my body better through nutrition, rest and recovery, and sustained work ethic. I truthfully believe you have to want it for yourself first. After that Ronny can take you to your goals and give you the lifestyle change that you want.
Thank you Ronny for all your help and I look forward to my continued success with you,

"Ronny Started Training About 12 Weeks Ago And I Now Remember What It Is Like To Be "In Shape" Again."
I was pretty much a gym bum in my late 20’s but priorities change once you have a wife, 2 kids and have a business to run. There were periods of inspiration in between when I would make it to the gym or clean out my garage and train sporadically. The problem was that I was not consistent, and consequently I was never able to get back into what I would consider "good shape" again.
As time goes by and the pounds slowly collect, it becomes more and more difficult to break out of your sedentary habits. Now at the age of 54 I am on the road to being in the best shape of my life. What changed is that I hired Ronny .......and that made all the difference in the world. Ronny has taught me things I had never learned in my younger years "hanging out" in the gym with what Ronny likes to call "meat heads". His training program was tailored specifically for me and has built up my strength and conditioning from the inside out. I think building core strength is very important for an older person to assure a long life of physical activity.
I would encourage anyone who wants to get into the best shape of their lives to hire a trainer with Paradigm Fitness. To succeed, you need to break the cycle of laziness, acquire some discipline, and ingrain the habit ... all of which is extremely difficult if you don’t have a talented and knowledgeable person like Ronny to guide you along.
I am less than 5 pounds away from my goal ....after having lost nearly 20 pounds I am much stronger and in much better cardio condition. This has made a big difference in my Tennis game, not to mention nearly EVERY other facet of my life, such as being able to bounce up 2 flights of stairs at my office. Thank you Ronny for helping me reach my goals and getting me in the best shape of my life!

"I Notice That I Smile A Lot More Than I Used To, And Sometimes I Catch Myself Looking In The Mirror And Thinking, "Hey, I Look Pretty Good Today."
I started training with Ronny right after I graduated from college and moved back home. I was another victim of "the freshmen fifteen," except for me, I didn’t stop gaining weight when I moved out of the dorms. For the four years that I was in school, In and Out Burger was my best friend, and I didn’t even think about going to the gym because I actually thought that all the walking I did to and from class was actually providing me with enough exercise. I lost a lot of confidence in myself during that time, and I knew that the changes in my body had a lot to do with that, but I still couldn’t motivate myself enough to do something about it. At one point, I even bought a gym membership, but after a week or two, I just stopped going. There was always something important that I had to do or some excuse that would come up with that would stop me from exercising.
When I moved back home, I ran into a friend from high school and she told me about her personal trainer, Ronny, and how he had essentially changed her life. She encouraged me to talk to him about my goals and to consider working with him. I started training with Ronny shortly after that and working with him has been so much more effective than anything I’ve ever done on my own to improve my body. On those days when I’m tired or I just don’t feel like going to the gym, Ronny is always there, holding me accountable and keeping me on schedule. Ronny has taught me a lot about the different aspects of fitness and has inspired me to make a life change. I notice that I smile a lot more than I used to, and sometimes I catch myself looking in the mirror and thinking, "hey, I look pretty good today." Before training with Ronny, I didn’t really have a lot of positive thoughts about my physical appearance, but that has definitely changed. Physically, training with Ronny hasn’t been easy, but he’s challenged me more than I’ve ever challenged myself, and I can see the results. I will always keep in mind the phrase that he’s immortalized in my head that "being sexy ain’t easy!"

"Now, At 13% Body Fat And 135 lbs, I Am The Healthiest I—ve EVER Been!"
In college, I majored in Kinesiology, the study of fitness and human physiology. I was active throughout childhood, but never entered a gym until college. Working out became a daily activity for me, but after graduation I fell into a pattern and hit a plateau. I felt as if I was just maintaining my fitness level rather than improving it. After graduation, I spent a year traveling in the South Pacific. Although I was active by surfing and skating, I was pretty lazy in between sessions! They eat a lot of cookies in New Zealand…and since I didn’t have a gym handy, I got out of the routine. For the first time in my life I felt myself losing my fitness level. I gained about 15 lbs and lost some of the high-energy vitality that I had long enjoyed. My favorite jeans wouldn’t fit and something had to change!
In 2007 I met Ronny and began working out with him. He taught me a lot about nutrition. I began to change what I was eating and when. He also taught me the importance of pre- and post- workout nutrition. Ronny changed my perception of needing to avoid training certain muscles to not bulk up. Once my caloric intake got balanced, I began to see tone and lean muscles (rather than looking "bulky"). I noticed my measurements going down and my clothes fitting better.
I have always been motivated to work out hard, but Ronny has pushed me further than I would have EVER gone by myself. He believed I could reach certain goals, even when I wanted to mentally give up. Even though I have a kinesiology degree and have always been active, Ronny helps keep my program varied, intense, and educational. And most importantly, he keeps me accountable. I think sometimes it takes someone on the outside looking in to see what we are really physically capable of - and Ronny is AMAZING at tapping into the potential of his clients. Now, at 13% body fat and 135 lbs, I am the healthiest I’ve EVER been. Currently I am focusing on my athletic goals. In high school I could not run a mile without stopping; however, after training with Ronny for a year, I recently ran a mile in 6 minutes 58 seconds! I want fitness to be a priority for the rest of my life and Ronny keeps this goal alive every week!

"Ronny knows how to keep me motivated. He never lets me fall short of what I can do, even when I think I can’t."
I’ve been into physical fitness for over 20 years. Back then, my goal was to gain some weight since I weighed about 100 lbs. A few years later, I transitioned into bodybuilding and loved the discipline, the heavy lifting and “fun” of it all. Now, several years later of inconsistent training, neck surgery which required wearing a neck brace for 7 months 24x7, and the definite impact of getting older, I’ve found I need guidance and someone to encourage me to get back into a physically fit lifestyle.
I’ve had partners and trainers in the past that helped a little, but they did not know how to drive, challenge and motivate me. Last year I decided to get really serious and hired a trainer who then transferred me to Ronny. Ronny was told that I could handle a challenge and would welcome it. Ronny loves a challenge!
We started by focusing on improving my balance, my stamina and physical fitness. After meeting these objectives in about 4 months, we’ve remained focused on maintaining my achievements and continuously upping the challenge of my workouts! I think it is important to continuously be challenged. Ronny knows how to keep me motivated. He never lets me fall short of what I can do, even when I think I can’t.
Ronny has paid a lot of attention to my personal needs and my crazy schedule. It’s an awful lot to ask, when I live in Nevada and am in San Jose only a couple weeks every month. But he remains consistent, continuously driving me forward, educating me, providing instruction and advice to ensure no matter where I am, I can continue to train and progress. I’m very happy with the progress that I’ve made. My own progress has motivated me to become more self disciplined than I have been in years.
Ronny has all the qualities of a professional and dedicated trainer: he is knowledgeable, he is attentive, he is always positive, he is reliable and dependable, he is a great instructor and he really cares about your success. What more can you ask for?!

"In January of this year I weighed in at 261 lbs...only 7 months later I’ve dropped 20 lbs, I just finished biking 30 miles in San Francisco one day, and walking 15 miles the very next day."
I could sit here and tell you about how the personal training experience with Ronny has increased my self-confidence, how its made me feel better, how its helping me deal with everday stresses but I’m not going to do that. What I do want to say is this; In January of this year I weighed in at 261 lbs, I was out of shape, I had trouble doing push ups, and I did not like what i was seeing in the mirror.
Fast forward to July, only 7 months later. I’ve dropped 20 lbs, I just finished biking 30 miles in San Francisco one day, and walking 15 miles the very next day. (mind you both days included numerous hills, this was no walk in the park), and I FEEL GREAT! This past weekend was proof positive that what Ronny does and teaches is working and producing results. Over 45 miles in 2 days and all I have are some sore calves. THATS ALL!
All the squats, the green bays, the pep talks, and the pushing to the limit are paying off. I can’t wait to see what unfolds as my training progresses. Even though there are times I say to myself, He is F@#$%@#$ Crazy if he thinks I’m gonna finish this set, he always sees that i do. Ronny, Thank You!
